Viewsonic Set to Expand Master Dealer Network
By Archana Venkatraman
Mumbai, Feb 14, 2007 After appointing Mumbai-based Compuage as its distributor, Viewsonic will now increase its master dealers strength to 100 from the existing 47 dealers by the end of this quarter and also expand its presence in B, C and D category cities.
Viewsonic will be recruiting master dealers for the first time in B, C and D category cities and roll out its second phase of master dealers in the metros. Gautam Ghosh, country manager, Viewsonic, said, "We intend to accelerate our market share and expand our base aggressively in the B, C and D category cities."
"For new master dealers in the metros, some of our reseller-retailer channel will be elevated. On the basis of their performance and distributor recommendation, the second tier partners could graduate to master dealers of Viewsonic," he added. The LCD vendor will consider criteria like sales achievement, revenue and regular stock statements while recruiting master dealers.
Recently, the vendor inducted Emily Chu as Viewsonic marketing channel head in India to handle the Indian marketing activities and to coordinate with the channel. The company has also appointed two regional channel heads and plans to have a regional head for each zone to deal with the channel partners.
Ghosh added, "Our distributors have recommended us names of partners. We will sift through the list and induct partners mainly from Delhi, Kolkata and the northern region." He added, "We look forward for a retail channel too apart from channel recruitment in tier II and III cities."
Umang Mehta of Roop Technology and a Viewsonic partner said, "Viewsonic aims to increase its market share in its least ventured zones like the North and West and has asked us regional distributors for recommendations."
